for Retailers, Distributors & Importers

Stay Ahead of Product Passport Requirements — Without Bottlenecks or Guesswork

From Supplier to Shelf — Be Ready for ESPR and Beyond

What DPP Means for You

If you sell, distribute, or import products into the EU or EEA, the Digital Product Passport (DPP) isn’t just a compliance issue for manufacturers — it directly affects you. Under ESPR and related regulations, retailers and importers will be responsible for ensuring that products on the market display and link to valid product passports.

From electronics and batteries to textiles and furniture, your role is critical in delivering transparent, accessible product data to consumers, regulators, and repair services — both online and at the point of sale.

This isn’t just about avoiding liability — it’s a strategic opportunity to build trust, streamline operations, and align with future retail models.

Your Challenges

We understand the operational complexity retailers and distributors face:

Fragmented Supply Chain Data
It’s difficult to verify that every product from every supplier includes a valid passport — especially across global networks and mixed systems.
Expanding Legal Responsibility
You’ll be expected to ensure that every regulated product is DPP-compliant before placing it on the EU/EEA market — with enforcement mechanisms and liability risk in play.
Integration with Retail Channels
Whether online or in-store, DPPs must be reliably connected to products and accessible by customers — without disrupting your existing systems or customer experience.
Limited Time to Adapt
With enforcement timelines moving fast, importers and distributors need a practical way to prepare without building custom tools or depending on slow suppliers.

How We Help

EU & EEA DPP Coverage

We guide you through what’s required, from ESPR to the EU Battery Regulation, across all impacted product groups. You retain full control and ownership of your data, with no vendor lock-in.

Fast, Secure Public Lookups

Each product gets a unique QR or RFID code. Core passport data is embedded in the code itself and remains accessible offline. Extended details are served from Azure’s European data centers, routed through Azure Front Door with WAF protection, so lookups stay fast and reliable for the European market.

Connect Products Across Systems

Establish parent-child, sibling, or group relationships between products — including links to other DPP providers. This lets you show that a product is part of a kit, a replacement for another item, or made from subcomponents — even if some of the passports live outside our system.

Practical Onboarding

You can start with our pre-structured Excel template: fill in your product data and our team helps you map, validate, and publish the passports. Or have your team work directly in the platform with templates, attribute groups, and a media library. We’re rolling out connectors for PIM and ERP systems — talk to us about your setup.

Built for Scale

The platform follows MACH principles: API-first, cloud-native, and modular. It runs on Microsoft Azure in European regions with managed services for performance and reliability. A tenant-facing API for full product management is on the roadmap and will let you integrate DPP data directly into your existing systems.

Why It Matters

Getting DPP right helps more than just your compliance team:

Build Customer Confidence
Transparency at the point of sale builds loyalty and helps customers make informed, sustainable choices.
Ensure Product Readiness
Prevent distribution delays and stop non-compliant products from reaching your shelves — or customers.
Enable Circular Retail
Passports unlock future models for repair, trade-in, resale, and recycling — essential for a circular economy and upcoming regulation.
Reduce Supplier Risk
When suppliers can’t deliver compliant Digital Product Passports, the liability lands with you. Our platform helps you flag gaps early so you can address them with suppliers before products reach your shelves.

Work With the Right Partner

We’re not salespeople or middlemen. We’re builders. Product Passport Authority is led by product and tech founders who’ve built the platform from the ground up. We’re a member of Standard Norge’s national DPP committee, and we’re already running pilots with Norwegian manufacturers in construction and textiles.

No vendor lock-in. A practical, scalable way to manage Digital Product Passports, with the flexibility to connect with your suppliers, your systems, and your pace.

We handle the hard parts so you can focus on your core business and stay ready for what’s coming.
