The platform follows MACH principles: API-first, cloud-native, and modular. Built with Spring Boot/Kotlin, PostgreSQL, and Cosmos DB on Azure. OpenAPI-specified endpoints power the entire platform, including the frontend you see in our demo.

Optimized Public Access Layer

Core product data is embedded offline in QR/RFID codes. Extended data is served from Azure’s European data centers, secured with Azure Front Door WAF, Managed Identity authentication, and encryption in transit and at rest.

What APIs and integrations do you currently support?

The platform is built API-first. All functionality is powered by OpenAPI-specified REST endpoints. Today, external data import is available via Excel upload, and we’re rolling out connectors for PIM and ERP systems. A public developer API with programmatic access to product passport data is on the roadmap.

How do you ensure data integrity and version control?

We provide robust versioning and change tracking for every product passport entry. Historical data is archived to enable audits and rollback if needed, ensuring transparency and compliance.

How do you handle scalability and performance under load?

The platform runs on Azure with cloud-native services (App Services, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB, Service Bus). It’s designed to scale with your data volumes as they grow. Public passport access is served from multiple Azure regions in Europe, with Azure Front Door for routing and WAF protection.

What security standards and certifications does your platform comply with?

The platform is hosted in Azure’s European data centers with a zero-trust security model. We use Managed Identity authentication, role-based access control (RBAC), Azure Key Vault for secrets, and encryption in transit and at rest. Our security posture is aligned with ISO 27001. What is your approach to data ownership and portability?

You retain full ownership of your data. All data can be exported in standardized JSON format at any time, enabling easy migration or audits without vendor lock-in.

How do you handle compliance updates and regulatory changes?

We track ESPR and adjacent regulations closely and update the platform as new delegated acts land. As a member of Standard Norge’s national DPP committee, we’re close to both the Norwegian and European standardization work. Formal compliance responsibility stays with the manufacturer or economic operator. We make the technical work much easier.

What developer tools and documentation are available?

The platform is built on OpenAPI specifications. Internal API documentation covers all current endpoints. A public developer portal with interactive docs, SDKs, and a sandbox environment is planned as the public API takes shape.

How is access control and authentication managed?

Authentication is handled through Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) with OAuth2 and MSAL. Users sign in via Entra External ID, and all API calls use Bearer JWT tokens. Role-based access control is built into the platform, with permissions scoped per company and user role.

What support and onboarding resources do you offer for technical teams?

We provide hands-on onboarding assistance, including guided attribute mapping and system integration support. Our team is available to collaborate closely with your developers to ensure smooth implementation and address technical questions.

Where does formal compliance responsibility sit?

With your organization. ESPR and the Battery Regulation place obligations on the manufacturer or economic operator placing the product on the market. DPPA gives you the technical platform, the data model, and the audit trail. The legal responsibility for what you publish stays with you.
