What are the key regulatory deadlines for DPP compliance?

Deadlines vary by product category and regulation. The first hard date is the EU Batteries Regulation: from February 18, 2027, batteries placed on the EU/EEA market must have a compliant Digital Product Passport. There is no grace period after that date. ESPR rolls out category by category through delegated acts, and each category gets its own enforcement timeline once adopted. We track upcoming deadlines closely and update the platform so you can meet them on time.

How does DPPA handle data security and privacy?

Security and privacy are foundational to the platform. Our infrastructure is hosted in Microsoft Azure’s European data centers. Access is protected by Azure Front Door WAF, Managed Identity authentication, role-based access controls, and encryption in transit and at rest. Can I audit historical product data changes?

Absolutely. Our platform implements full version control and archiving for all product passports. Every publication is tracked and stored securely, allowing you to review, export, and audit historical data for compliance and reporting purposes.

How do public and regulator access permissions work?

Public access to Digital Product Passports is provided through fast and secure web services linked via QR or RFID codes on products. Basic product information is embedded offline within the codes for instant access, while more detailed data is available online. Access is designed to be seamless and reliable for consumers and regulators alike, ensuring transparency and compliance without compromising security.

What support do you offer for data integration?

The platform is modular and API-first. Today you can submit product data via Excel uploads, or have your team manage it directly in the platform. We’re rolling out connectors for PIM and ERP systems — talk to us about your specific setup. A Tenant API for full product management is on the roadmap, and once available it will give you authorized programmatic access to your tenant’s product passport data so you can integrate it into compliance dashboards, GRC tools, or data warehouses.

Where does formal compliance responsibility sit?

With your organization. ESPR and the Battery Regulation place obligations on the manufacturer or the economic operator placing the product on the market. DPPA gives you the technical platform, the data model, and the audit trail, but the legal responsibility for what you publish stays with you. Most compliance teams want it that way.
