Ethical Guidelines and Responsible Business Policy

1. Our Purpose and Values

DPPA develops technology that makes sustainability and transparency accessible. We build our business on:

  • Integrity: We act honestly and transparently
  • Responsibility: We take responsibility for our impact on society and the environment
  • Trust: We build long-term relationships based on mutual respect
  • Sustainability: We contribute to a more sustainable business community

2. Anti-Corruption and Financial Integrity

2.1 Zero Tolerance for Corruption

DPPA accepts no form of corruption, bribery, or unethical influence.

This means specifically:

  • No bribes to customers, partners, or authorities
  • No improper advantages or gifts
  • No “facilitation payments” or enabling of illegal activities
  • All business development through honest, transparent processes

2.2 Gifts and Hospitality

Permitted:

  • Symbolic tokens of appreciation of small value (<50 EUR)
  • Reasonable business meals

Not permitted:

  • Expensive gifts to decision-makers
  • Entertainment or gifts that could be perceived as influence
  • Cash gifts

Rule: When in doubt – decline, and discuss with co-founder.

2.3 Sound Financial Management

  • All financial activity is documented and properly accounted for
  • We comply with Norwegian accounting legislation
  • Transparent ownership and financial governance

3. Human Rights and Working Conditions

3.1 Our People

Fundamental principles:

  • Everyone shall be treated with respect and dignity
  • No discrimination based on gender, age, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or disability
  • Zero tolerance for harassment or bullying
  • Safety and fair treatment

For future staffing:

  • Written agreements with clear terms
  • Market-rate compensation and decent working conditions
  • Respect for the right to leisure and health

3.2 Suppliers and Partners

We expect our suppliers to:

  • Respect fundamental human rights
  • Comply with local labor laws (minimum)
  • Not use forced labor or child labor
  • Provide employees with safe working conditions

Consequence: We will terminate cooperation with suppliers who violate these principles.


4. Environment and Sustainability

4.1 Our Environmental Responsibility

  • We choose suppliers with a green profile where possible
  • We build the platform for minimal environmental impact (efficient code, optimized resource usage)
  • We work to reduce our own climate footprint

4.2 Our Positive Contribution

  • Our core business supports sustainable transformation
  • We make it easier for companies to document environmental impact
  • We promote circular economy and transparency

5. Data Security and Privacy

5.1 Data Handling

DPPA handles customers’ product data and personal information.

Our commitments:

  • GDPR compliance in everything we do
  • Encrypted storage and secure transmission
  • Only authorized access to data
  • Transparent about how data is used

5.2 No Misuse

  • We never sell customer data
  • We do not use data for purposes other than agreed
  • The customer owns their own data
  • Full version control and traceability

6. Business Practices

6.1 Fair Competition

  • We compete fairly and lawfully
  • We respect competitors’ intellectual property rights
  • We do not make false claims about competitors

6.2 Marketing

  • Our marketing shall be truthful
  • No misleading claims
  • We do not overstate our products

6.3 Customer Relations

  • We do not promise more than we can deliver
  • Transparency about limitations in the platform
  • Constructive dialogue when facing challenges

7. Handling Violations

7.1 Reporting

Anyone who discovers violations of these guidelines shall report this.

We guarantee:

  • No retaliation against whistleblowers
  • Confidentiality where possible
  • Serious follow-up of all inquiries

7.2 Consequences

Violations of these guidelines may result in:

  • Corrective measures
  • Termination of cooperation (suppliers/consultants)
  • Police report for serious violations

8. Supplier Requirements

All suppliers and partners to DPPA must:

  1. Confirm that they have read and understood these guidelines
  2. Commit to following similar principles in their work for/with DPPA
  3. Accept that DPPA may terminate the cooperation in case of violations

Standard supplier clause:
“The supplier confirms having read DPPA’s ethical guidelines and commits to conducting their business in accordance with the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.”


9. Continuous Improvement

These guidelines are living documents.

We commit to:

  • Annual review and updates
  • Ongoing training (when we have employees)
  • Transparency about areas for improvement
  • Listening to feedback

10. Publication

These guidelines are publicly available at www.dppa.no and shared with all suppliers and partners.
